Citilink Indonesia Recruitment Process

Hi everyone, maybe I'll make a label of my post recently, because everything about airlines. haha lol :D

Beside that, I was join Citilink Indonesia recruitment,Citilink is a subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia. I've tried Garuda Indonesia last year actually, but failed in the medical check up. So, the process of Citilink Indonesia are :

1. Walk in Interview
There are a lot of people who join this recruitment, if I'm not mistaken, I compete with 1000 around people in that time. It was a tired day, I arrived at 07.30 AM but I get inside to performance test is around 01.00 PM, tiring right? Performance test, they will measure your weight and your height based on BMI (body mass index). Then if you are meet their requirement, you'll be in process to another step, which is Interview with the user. Process interview is so so, just introduce yourself and they will asking about yours (activity, occupation, reason, etc). Tips are just confidence with your self, tell them about yourself. But basically, you must always put your best smile on your face. :)

2. Psychotest

If you pass the interview, you'll be in the next step. Psychotest's tips is only prepare yourself,
enough sleep and rest enough before the test, don't stay up late in the night before. Before you go, eat your breakfast, please don't say you don't want eat breakfast first because you're afraid that the weight will be increase immediately, no hunny, they don't check your weight on this stage. So, make sure you're in a god condition and fullfil your tummy with enough food, so you can do your test with good.

3. Background Check

The test is being held in GMF, Soekarno Hatta. You must provide your original documents and its copy. Don't ever make falsifications of your documents. You must bring your original birth certificate, card identity, original education certificate, permit letter from your parents, reference letter from your company (if you have a job at that time), criminal records certificate, and confirmation letter. So many right? Make it in one map together and put your photograph there. Actually, they just check your document to make sure your original documents, you'll also have a written test. Don't worry if you read the company and your background knowledge of your country, you can do your test. The recruiter will ask you after you done with your written test. My experience, just make it simple, answer all the question with polite and proper. If your documents are complete and you can answer the questions with good, don't be afraid, just pray harder :)

4. Pantuhir

Yes, Pantuhir in Bahasa is Penentuan Akhir. You'll be interviewed by the Directors or Vice Presidents of Citilink Indonesia. The candidate will enter the room one by one. There are 3 interviewer in the room, make sure your make up is still good and tidy up your clothes. They'll ask you to walk with and without shoes. Then, the main part is ... You'll get a lot of question, actually its very basic and common question, but they will ask you again and again based on your answer. Like Why? How? Which one? Tell us! something like that. haha. But it was so fun, I didn't get nervous too much because I know when I get so nervous everything become mess up. So good luck, never stop pray!

5. Medical Check Up

Viola! Here is the last step recruitment for Citilink Cabin Crew, if you don't have any serious illness or disease, just prepare your body, I know I failed in Garuda Indonesia last year because my hemoglobin is less than their standard, my hb was around 11,4/11,4, they need 12. If you have a medical examination, drink the mineral water so many, drink pure milk (I drink BearBrand), rest and sleep enough, eat vegetables and fruits as much, I prefer eat the natural food then the supplement or something like that, then make sure your eyes is normal, I mean you don't have minus above 2. This stage is located in Balai Kesehatan Penerbangan Kemayoran different with Garuda Indonesia.

I was join the walk in interview on March, 2015 but the whole step are really take a long time, so it takes 3 months until the last test. What about the result? Will tell you soon, promise! :)

Air Atlanta Icelandic is ACMI service providers (Airlines, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) which looking for a cabin crew for Hajj Season. The process are really simple and fun, we just send the email to Airborne Personnel. The selected one will get the invitation to attend the interview and English test I told you guys, the HR team of Air Borne Personnel are really really really nice and fun. I remember Mrs. Helga, Mrs. Ann, and others are really really a kind person. I don't know why but when I was interviewed, I feel like I am talking with a mother whose warm heart and nice. Hihihi. Maybe I just remember my mom.

I come to Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, to attend this interview. All of us need to re-registration in the front desk of a meeting room. I forgot the name, but there is a woman who are ex-cabin crew in Air Atlanta, she is Indonesian. She give the attendance list so we can fill and sign it. I was excited at that time, maybe I'm a bit excessive, I am so happy looking the AAI team, I like hear English accent from the European People. Maybe, because I love watching Harry Potter. (hahaha, ok its not related)

The process are :
1. Submit CV to email
2. Invitation for Interview

3. Re-registration in the front desk

4. English Test
Promise, it is not too difficult. They give 20 question in multiple choice and an essay with a topic (only 100 words if I'm not mistaken ). We took the test around 1 hour, or maybe less. We go outside the room to wait the result. Then they shouted the name who didn't passed the test (but they really polite, with call them to a small meeting room, they didn't announced the result in front of all candidates)
5. Interview
I was interviewed by Mrs. Sila if I'm not mistaken. She is really nice and have a beautiful eyes indeed. Hehe. She always smile and staring at me very warm. The question basically just want to know about us and personality. She ask what is the main reason of me want to be a cabin crew, what is my current job, how can I handle the stress or situation, what is the saddest and the happiest part in my life, are you ready to work abroad and live so far from home, what do you know about Saudi Arabia (of course as a Muslim I know this place), what do you know about Air Atlanta Icelandic (wannabes, I tell you, if you want to apply a job in a company, make sure you know what and where the company is, googling and read as much as you can, so they know that you try the best)

After the English test done, the candidates who passed this stage will get a briefing and introduction about AAI. What we will do and prepare towards, and they told us about the salary and benefits. After whole stage in that day, they will give us an email of our result. The person who success and pass the test have to send the background documents like curriculum vitae, copy passport, criminal records, academic transcript and certificate, company/institution/school which we work or study in there around 5 recent years.

Then about the result, I'll give you the updates later :*

A Super Big Decision with A Super Big Courage

Assalammualaikum,

Hi everyone! I want post what I did 6 months backwards. First of all, in December 2014 I got the acceptance letter and offering letter from Malaysia Airlines Sdn Bhd, what a surprised news, right?
I joined the recruitment of Malaysia Airlines around June 2014 last year exactly. Actually, this recruitment is being held by the agent in Indonesia. The process are :
1. CV Submit
CV Submit, I send my curriculum vitae, application letter, photograph, copy passport and copy of education certificate and another supporting documents if you have any.

2. Pre - Interview
The selected, will be called by the agent to have an interview. I thought it just a chit chat together with the agent, and no one failed. The interviewer from agent is just only asking about our daily activity and what is the reason you want to be a flight attendant, then he mentioned about the benefits and basic salary in Malaysia Airlines for expatriate. Unfortunately, one of my friends didn't pass this stage.

3. Presentation about Malaysia Airlines
Candidates who passed the Pre-Interview have to come to attend the briefing and presentation about Malaysia Ailrlines from Malaysia Airlines Human Capital Division team (They come to Jakarta). I still remember, if I'm not mistaken, a Senior Flight Attendant names Mazlina, told about Malaysia Airlines and her experiences to go to many countries with Malaysia Airlines. She told us that we must prepare and how to do while we are the selected candidates who must pass the final interview. We have to wear the Kebaya or Business Attire with bright color.

4. Background Check
The day, that the Malaysia Airlines team come and interviewed us. I came to the interview with a business attire with pink color and a bit flowery. They call our name one by one to get inside to the small room. There is a woman who check all the original documents of the candidates. Fyi, Malaysia Airlines accept female with D3 (diploma holder) background study, but I don't know some of the candidates didn't pass this stage. I am not sure maybe they give their Senior High School Certificate.

5. Preliminary
If candidates pass the background check, they will get inside to another room. There is a woman with a curly hair and sweet smile get closer to me. She checked all my skin both of my body and my face. If there is a scars or pimples, you won't pass this stage. I don't know, I thought I have a few spot in my face because the pimples, but I pass this stage. Yeah!

6. Final Interview
There! If the candidates passed the preliminary, they will go to another room. They separate the candidates into groups. One group consist of 3-5 people. (Sorry , I forget the amount). We come to a small room, there is one interviewer. She asked us one by one, personally. I mean, we must introduce ourself first to her and she will ask anything that she want to ask. I remember the questions are :
a. Tell me about yourself
b. Why do you want to be a Cabin Crew
c. What is your activity now? How's your job?
d. Do you think cabin crew must have a higher education background? why?
e. Which one do you prefer beauty or brain?
f. What do you want to be 5 years a head? why?

Carefully, the questions are really random. One of my friends were asked "What is your favorite color and why?", so, wanna be, if you want to know the secret or tips, just make sure that your answer is related to the cabin crew requirements.

So, that's my experience interviewed by Malaysia Airlines. After waiting the result, I got the email that I successfully pass the final interview. Me with 16 candidates were waiting the email to continue to do the medical examination / medical check up.

Sadly, really sad, we heard about the news that Malaysia Airlines got another accident after MH370, MH17 was shot and falling from sky. Big condolences to this tragedy for sure. I didn't get any email again after this tragedy while me and my friends are still waiting the result of medical check up. I got another job as a Secretary in a multinational company which engages in the field of carbon black, raw materials. That company owned by America. I enjoy work in there. I am happier than I work in a bank, I really love the environment, even I know there is no career path there.

The first email above about result of our medical examination

The offering letter and the T & C

Suddenly, in the end of December 2014, I got an email, that was a result of my medical check up. I passed it.What a shock plus surprised news. But, my plans are become mess up. I plan to get married and so on. But, deep in my heart I really want to be a flight attendant, basic reason, it because the money and salary that I get. But, I just want to join the international airlines. I just want to increase the financial and economical of my family. As a breadwinner (Tulang Punggung) in my family. It really make me stress, people never know what I am actually feel and happen to me. I smash my head sometimes when I really being pressed with the situation of my family (oh my god, even write this sentences, my heart feel so hurt and my eyes are teary) . It is not easy, man, for sure it is not easy. In other hand, I don't want to be a flight attendant because I want to get a Master Degree and be a Lecturer. Why? Simple question, because I'll be a mom for my son or daughter, I'll be a wife for my husband, I'll be a 'home' for my little family. I don't want choose a job with a high risk and high mobility. But how can I get my master degree? The cost is really too high, how can I continue my study while I am a breadwinner, I know the best way is scholarship. But so many things that I think, how's the preparation, how's my family live, and another small and big things that I can't mention. So, yes, I'll take it. I am happily signed the contract and prepare my departure.

But, how ridiculous! The HR team email all the candidates that the recruitment are being hold until do not know when. He just said until the New Co. are finalized. But, they no idea when. Sounds funny right? But, I sincere let this run and goes naturally, no offense to them. I know, this time is the hardest to Malaysia Airlines. I try to join another recruitment, like Citilink Indonesia and Air Atlanta Icelandic.

So, what's going on this matter, I'll let you know in another post. :)
